SUNDAY, JANUARY 27 - CATHOLIC SCHOOLS' WEEK MASS, OPEN HOUSE AND PANCAKE BREAKFAST:
The fourth grade has planned a beautiful Mass to celebrate Catholic Schools' Week.  Mass is at 9 A.M.  Following Mass, we will have an Open House from 10:00-1:00.  Please come and see the wonderful work your children have accomplished.  Also, please stop by the Becker Center and have a delicious pancake breakfast hosted by our eighth graders.  The pancake breakfast will be served from 8 a.m. until noon.

MONDAY, JANUARY 28 - CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK KICK-OFF ASSEMBLY AND CAREER DAY - in Becker Center at 8:30
We will have a prayer service and a speaker for our kick off assembly.  Our speaker is Marty Argenti, our parish youth minister.  He will talk with the students about his background as a Catholic school graduate and also explain to them what he does as our parish youth minister. During the afternoon, the junior high students will participate in a Career Day, interacting with various professionals.  Parents are invited to the kick-off assembly at 8:30 in the Becker Center.

TUESDAY, January 29 – STUDENT APPRECIATION DAY & CRAZY HAIR/HAT DAY
The students are allowed to wear crazy hair and /or hats for the day. Students may also wear their “Spartan Speedway” T-shirts from the walk-a-thon.  Other than that, students will wear their uniforms.  We will have student prayer partner dessert and card exchanges.  The children are to bring desserts and cards for their prayer partners.  Be sure that desserts and cards are labeled with names.  Children can put the desserts and cards in decorative boxes/bags or decorate bags for their prayer partners.

We have arranged for an assembly for the students in the afternoon.  The students will be treated to a magic show by “Magic Dan”.

WEDNESDAY, January 31 – SPIRIT RALLY DAY
A spirit rally has been organized by the student council and will be held in Becker Center from 2:00-2:45. The students will be allowed to dress in the colors of the sports teams that have been assigned to their classes.  The students can wear the colors and any sports clothes they have for that team.  I want to make it clear that you don’t need to buy any clothes items - just wearing the team colors is sufficient.   Free dress guidelines must be followed.  Please make sure your children are dressed appropriately.

THURSDAY, JANUARY 31 - TEACHER APPRECIATION DAY
The student council will make a special presentation to the teachers at morning assembly.  The PTO will host an appreciation luncheon at noon for the faculty and staff.  I encourage you and your children to use this day as an opportunity to show your appreciation to the teachers.

FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 1 - GRANDPARENTS DAY – 12:15-12:20 TO 2:45
Grandparents will be invited for a special afternoon.  The program will start at 12:15 - 12:20 with refreshments in the Brinker Room.  This is earlier than in past years. Please be sure to tell grandparents not to arrive before 12:15-12:20, because we will be busy with preparations until then.  After refreshments, we have a special music/dance program for our grandparents.  After the entertainment, grandparents will visit the school and enjoy spending time with their grandchildren in the classrooms and school.

At 2:50, a bell will ring and grandparents will leave the school. They can get a head start on getting out of the parking lot!  The students must return to their classrooms to be dismissed at 3:00.  Grandparents cannot take students at 2:50.  If children are going home with grandparents, they should wait for the children on blacktop at our 3:00 o‘clock dismissal.  Please give grandparents these directions.  Thank you.
