“To Teach as Christ Our Lord and Master Does”

Hello, I am Fr. Gabriel Sanchez Navarro.

It is an honor to greet you and to introduce myself as the next principal of St. Eugene Cathedral Catholic School where your children are educated according to our school motto: Teaching as Christ does. Attending and recognizing our students' individual needs and abilities, we are committed to educate the whole person, fostering spiritual, moral, social, intellectual, physical and emotional growth.

Recalling the words that speak of our mission, I can say with confidence that Catholic Education is an extremely important part of the mission entrusted by Jesus to the Church He founded. Through a theologically sound education, and in conjunction with parents, who are the primary and first educators of their children, our students will develop an identity as children of God created in His image and likeness whose gifts and talents received from their Creator make them capable of opting for the good and the truth in their words and actions, respecting and loving their fellow man and showing compassion, understanding and charity.

We are very joyous and enthusiastic to open our school doors to the community of Santa Rosa. We ask you to approach us with the confidence to seek information about everything related to your children's enrollment. You will be very well received with the human quality and professional attention that you and your children deserve.

I entrust myself to your prayers so that God's Will may be fulfilled in my performance and in that of the great team of collaborators, parents and professors committed to make this school a temple of knowledge in which your children grow and strengthen themselves spiritually, civically and humanly.

May the peace and mercy of God Our Heavenly Father reign in your homes and in your hearts today and always.

Yours in Christ,

—Father Gabriel Sanchez Navarro.

  • Saint Eugene's Cathedral School, mindful of its mission to be a witness to the love of Christ for all, admits students regardless of race, color, national origin, and/or ethnic origin to all rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at St. Eugene's.

The school does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, disability, medical condition, sex, or national and/or ethnic origin in the administration of educational policies and practices, scholarship programs, and athletic and other school-administered programs, although certain athletic leagues and other programs may limit participation.

While the school does not discriminate against students with special needs, a full range of services may not always be available to them. Admissions Criteria

The readiness of the child for grade level will be taken into consideration for placement.

  • Any child entering the kindergarten must be five years old by September 1st of the year he/she enters St. Eugene's Cathedral School. In grades 1-8, we use the public school cut-off date.

  • The student needs to be able to handle our particular classroom environment.

  • Students requesting entrance into St. Eugene's Cathedral School will be given a screening test by the administration to determine academic placement and readiness for the curriculum program. Students will have to submit report cards of the current and previous school years.

    1. All applicants and their families must accept and support the school philosophy and school policies.

    2. Since the relationship between the parents, student, teacher and administration is so important, St. Eugene's Cathedral School puts high priority on parent cooperation, a positive and supportive attitude, and the desire for Catholic education, as opposed to private school education.

    3. School families (siblings): Children who have brothers or sisters in the school are given first priority so as to honor the integrity of the families.

    4. St. Eugene's Cathedral School serves active parishioners next. These are families that are officially registered with the parish office, support the parish with the envelope system and are involved in parish ministries and programs.

    5. Next, St. Eugene's Cathedral School serves active non-parish Catholics.

    6. Next, St. Eugene's Cathedral School serves families who are not Catholic, but who demonstrate commitment to Catholic education. These families will use the "Plan B" for tuition payment.

Tuition & Fees

Click below for a breakdown of tuition and fees for the 2024-2025 school year.

Requirements of All School Families

  • Fundraising

Tuition and fees at St. Eugene’s School do not cover the cost of education, and most of the gap is made up through fundraising. Since all families benefit from the lower tuition rates, the fundraising requirements are in place to encourage all families to support our fundraisers.

  • One of the key values we strive to teach and to model at St. Eugene’s Cathedral School is that of Christian service for others. Thus, parents are required to give 30 hours of service to the school during the school year.

The purpose of parent encourages participation (PEP) hours is to provide needed help, to build community and to model Christian service. Each family is required to give a minimum of 30 parent hours per school year. Learn more about PEP hours here.

  • A $300 surcharge will be assessed in July when no tuition is due. This charge will help offset the significant cost of upgrading and repairing our school and grounds.
